Media Transasia President Raju Sarin resigns, to join India Today Group

Raju Sarin, President of Media Transasia Group, has quit the organisation and is joining India Today Group as Publisher of the Strategic Business Unit responsible for bringing out custom magazines and books.

Sarin, who served Media Transasia for close to a decade, is credited with launching two custom magazines – ‘Rendezvous’ for Honda and ‘Gatirang’ for Maruti. During his stint he was also responsible for launching a golf magazine and relaunching the flagship publication, ‘Swagat’, besides taking group revenues to a new high.

Speaking to exchange4media, Sarin said that he would be joining the India Today Group from July18. "As Publisher of the Strategic Business Unit, my task is to launch custom magazines for clients as well as to bring out books/guides on travel, food, lifestyle and other subjects."

Incidentally, the India Today Group already brings out a custom newspaper, ‘Barista News’, for Barista Cafe.

According to Sarin, as part of his new assignment, he will also be heading India Today's afternoon tabloid, ‘Today’. "My job will be to strengthen the newspaper in terms of ad revenue," Sarin said.
