McCann Erickson loses Raghu Bhat and Manish Bhatt to Contract

Even as McCann Erickson is adding on people resources, the agency has at the same time lost some valuable resources. The latest in line are Manish Bhatt and Raghu Bhat, Senior Creative Directors at the agency’s Mumbai office. They are both on their way to Contract, the agency where they had begun their career before moving to O&M.

Prasoon Joshi, Executive Chairman, McCann Erickson India, said, “Manish and Raghu are very valuable to me and I am not happy with their going. But it is their personal ambition to go back to the agency they had started from and that is something I have to respect. They have spent a significant spell at McCann Erickson and were assets to the agency. I wish them luck in their road ahead.”

Another loss that the agency recently faced was that of Vistasp Hodiwala (Vispi), who has left to join JWT. Over a month ago, Ajay Gehlot had moved out from the Mumbai office of McCann Erickson, when he split with his partner Sudip, who himself moved out of advertising to pursue a career in Bollywood. This duo had joined McCann Mumbai from Delhi. With Sudip out, Gehlot subsequently moved back to Delhi at Rediffusion DY&R.

Said Joshi, “A lot of people have joined us in Delhi and you can expect more announcements in the Mumbai office soon. Vispi was with us for almost five years --- that is a significant spell too. That is how it works. We have a great team in the agency already and work will go on.”
