MaXposure Media Group makes key appointments for India offices

The Miami-based MaXposure Media Group has made key appointments for its India offices recently. The company has appointed Pradeep Mohan as Director-Distribution and Marketing, and Vinay Varma as National Head-Sales and Marketing. The company has also appointed Karan Chauhan as Mumbai Branch Head-Marketing and Sales. Mohan comes in from Tehelka where he was Vice President, while Varma was General Manager Sales for India Today Group’s tabloid ‘Today’. Both Mohan and Varma would be based in Delhi.

Mohan, who has a total experience of around three decades, was also associated with the launch of the India Today’s regional editions in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Gujarati. He has also worked with Business Today, and has set up the sales, marketing and fulfillments systems at Outlook magazine, including recruitment. He is also credited with the planning and execution of the launch of Outlook and driving its marketing activities.

Commenting on his joining MaXposure Media Group, Mohan said, “A great product marketed properly can impress the minds of a large number of people. My passion has always been marketing and I am sure my association with the MaXposure Group is going to provide a challenging atmosphere to further pursue this passion.”

Vikas Johari, Publisher, MaXposure Media Group, said, “Given the dynamic nature of the media industry, which is ever-evolving and fast growing, the MaXposure Group is also experiencing the same. Pradeep’s vast experience in the magazine industry will not only give our expansion plans a fillip, but his expertise will help us expand our group exponentially.”

Mohan would oversee the national distribution and marketing of the media house’s three magazines -- ‘&’, which is a luxury and lifestyle magazine; ‘andMore’, a glam magazine; and ‘Forms’, a magazine that provides insight into design and architecture.

On the other hand, Varma would channelise the national sales and marketing activities of the publication house. He was previously associated with the OMS division of The Times of India as Business Head-North. He has also worked with Media TransAsia and with the Hindustan Times, among others.

Varma said, “The booming luxury segment, touted to be a Rs 2,500-crore market, needs a platform to showcase its developments. My association with the MaXposure Group, primarily associated with the luxury segment, would not only provide a challenging atmosphere to work in, but also allow me to be in the centre of this frantic activity.”

Commenting on Varma’s appointment, Johari said, “We have achieved a tremendous growth curve in the past few months, and looking ahead, there are several plans on the table for further expansion. Vinay’s joining at this juncture not only means a very experienced hand onboard, but also help us in channelising the resources of the company into making it a media group to reckon with.”

Chauhan, who has been appointed as Mumbai Branch Head-Marketing and Sales, was heading Global Gujarati (G2) magazine. Chauhan has 16 years of experience and has also worked for Gurlz magazine. Chauhan said, “I am happy to be associated with the MaXposure Media Group, which is a young and vibrant organisation with a fresh perspective. With the increase it has seen in every aspect over the past year, and given its future plans, I’m sure it will provide a challenging and exhilarating environment to work in.”

“Mumbai is an important city for the MaXposure Group. Given the growth that we are experiencing, we truly want to capitalise on the opportunities available here, and Karan is the perfect person to oversee our plans, given his tremendous experience in brand building and development,” Johari said about Chauhan’s appointment.
