MASH-Madison Shopper’s CEO Anand Narasimha joins Bates David Enterprise

Anand Narasimha, CEO of MASH-Madison Shopper Marketing, has returned to mainstream advertising, joining Bates David Enterprise as Vice President - Strategy & Knowledge. Narasimha will work closely with Bates CEO Subhash Kamath to drive training and development all over India, under their initiative ‘Incubates’.

Based in Bangalore, Narasimha’s mandate at Bates will be to drive strategic planning for the Bangalore and Chennai offices, as well as for Wall Street, the out-of-home services division of the Bates group.

Commenting on the development, Narasimha said, “Bates in India is buzzing, hungry and packed with inspirational people. It’s the best of both worlds -- being a part of WPP gives it scale, yet it is a maverick in spirit. My role in Bates in one word will be to ‘inspire’ -- both thinking and learning.”

Said Kamath, “Our Bangalore and Chennai offices are doing superbly and Anand is just the sort of person we were looking for to bolster our strategic prowess in the South. He’s an experienced strategist and, more importantly, very passionate about the creative product. Over the past year or so, I’ve been busy building a strong planning community within Bates and I see Anand playing a critical role on the team as a change agent.”

Narasimha has been in marketing and advertising for close to two decades and has rich experience across leading FMCG, durables, services, corporate, technology and lifestyle brands. With expertise in brand strategy, integrated marketing communications and shopper marketing, Anand has been involved with several game-breaking brand strategies, campaigns and innovations.

Narasimha has also worked in account planning and management departments with agencies such as JWT, McCann Erickson, Enterprise-Nexus, Contract and Saatchi & Saatchi, across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. He was also Head of Brand Management at BPL Ltd, and successfully drove brand marketing and communications for the electronics major for half a decade.
