Manoj Sharma has recently joined Impact, the sales function of the India Today Group, as Director. It’s home coming for Sharma who had previously spent 14 and a half years with the India Today group. Sharma will be heading the advertising and sales function for the India Today mega brand nationally.
Prior to taking up the new assignment, Sharma was with CNBC TV 18 for a year, where he was Business Development Head for the North and East markets. Speaking on the transition from electronic media to print media, Sharma said, “At CNBC TV 18, I was looking after the North and East markets, but now I have got a bigger responsibility and a bigger role to play.”
He further said that his stint with CNBC TV 18 “was quite meaningful and a learning experience. CNBC TV 18 grew at a very fast rate.”
Sharma will be reporting to Associate Publisher (Impact), Malcolm D Mistry. Expressing his views on Sharma’s appointment, Mistry said, “Manoj has come back to us. We are glad to have him back. He will be heading the team and we look forward to another great innings from Manoj.”
Sharma began his career with The Times of India as a trainee. After spending a year there, he moved to India Today initially joined as an Executive in 1990, and then went on to become Senior General Manager from 2000-05, looking after the Northern market.
