Reuters India has appointed Manav Khosla as Mobile Lead for their Consumer Media. Khosla moves from HT Media Ltd, where he was Head of Mobile. It may be recalled that Reuters had recently launched Reuters India, a new ad-supported English language website and accompanying mobile platform dedicated to South Asian news, business, sports and culture.
Commenting on the appointment, S N Bhaduri, Country Manager, Consumer Media India, Reuters, said, “Manav comes with a rich experience in the mobile value added services (VAS) space. With the launch of the new website and mobile platform, we are looking at reaching and engaging our readers with using this platform. Besides, Manav will also help us in giving the IPTV push, which is still in its nascent phase.”
Khosla is a technology and business development professional. He has also specialised in mobile services. At HT Media he looked at developing a short code strategy as well as mobile marketing, mobile commerce and mobile content for HT. Prior to HT, he had spent close to six and a half years at Times Internet.
Commenting on his new role, Khosla said, “At Reuters India, my role includes taking all Reuters content to mobile and IPTV platform in an innovative way. At Reuters, the approach is more on product focused strategy, while at HT my role included a direct-to-consumer approach.”
