Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd has elevated Manajit Ghoshal as Managing Director of Mid-Day Infomedia Ltd. The promotion brings Ghoshal his third simultaneous role in the Group. He will continue being the CEO of Mid-Day Infomedia Ltd and Group CFO of Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd. Mid-Day Infomedia, which handles the print and dotcom business of the group, is a subsidiary of Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd.

Commenting on the elevation, Tariq Ansari, Managing Director, Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd, said, “Mid-Day’s performance is a testament to Manajit’s leadership and the outstanding team of professionals that he leads. This well-deserved promotion is in recognition of his contribution towards making Mid-Day a household brand name and also India’s No. 1 afternoon newspaper of young working professionals across India.”

On his new role, Ghoshal said, “It has been a fulfilling and extremely rewarding experience to be a part of the Mid-Day team. With newer and bigger responsibilities, I look forward to leading and assisting the brand in implementing winning strategies.”

Ghoshal has been with the Group for seven years now. Ghoshal began his career in 1994 with KPMG Group and went on to work with Cadbury. He started his own dotcom venture in 2000 before foraying into the mainstream media industry.

Talking about the future plans of the Group, Ghoshal shared, “We have seen a five-fold increase in our digital presence. We are keenly looking forward to fortifying the content in this section, which includes both web and mobile. For our language publications, we are working on enhancing the presence of Gujarati Mid-Day as well as Urdu edition Inquilab.”

It may be worth noting that the Group’s afternooner Mid-Day brought India four awards at the recently held Asian Multimedia Publishing Awards (AMPA) 2009, two each in Multimedia Advertising Delivery category and Multimedia Communication category. Earlier this year, the publication had also won the prestigious IFRA and INMA Awards.
