: Mahesh Ramanathan of PPC to head Reliance ADAG’s Motion Picture initiatives

Mahesh Ramanathan will be the new head for Reliance ADA Group’s Motion Picture production and related business initiatives. Prior to joining Reliance ADAG, Ramanathan headed the Percept Picture Company as COO. Ramanathan has marketing experience of over 16 years with brands like Telstra, AirTel, Rasna and Baygon.

At Reliance ADAG, Ramanathan will spearhead the creation of a motion picture brand and will also be responsible for initiating strategic tie-ups with Hollywood majors along with worldwide acquisition and syndication of motion picture content.

Expressing his delight on the appointment, Rajesh Sawhney, President, Reliance Entertainment, said, “It is a pleasure to have Mahesh on board with us. The entertainment industry in India is headed towards a phenomenal growth in the coming decade and Mahesh will be one of the forerunners in enabling this movement for the group.”

Ramanathan is an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad, and was instrumental in building and guiding PPC through innovative business modeling. During his tenure, PPC produced films such as Hanuman, Malamal, Weekly, Corporate, Dor and Traffic Signal.
