Mahesh Chauhan elevated to Group CEO, Rediffusion

Mahesh Chauhan has been elevated as Group CEO, Rediffusion, with immediate effect. Chauhan is taking over the reins from Arun Nanda (who would, however, continue to be involved in the capacity of Chairman) and would be looking after the group companies of Rediffusion that include TME, Wunderman, Showdiff, Rediffusion Public Relations, OAP-Touchpoint as well as Rediffusion DYR. Everest Brand Solutions and Sudler & Hennesey are not in Chauhan’s mandate due to reasons of conflict.

Speaking on the development, Nanda said, “My journey with Rediffusion DYR began along with Ajit Balakrishnan in the year 1973, when we started the agency to show the world that there was much more to advertising than writing smart slogans and drawing pictures. I think we proved our point aptly, but now, I believe time has come for me to step aside and hand over the reins to Mahesh, who has the passion, vision and drive to take the company to the next level.”

Chauhan said, “This role epitomises the faith that Arun and Ajit have always reposed in me. I hope to live up to it to the best of my capabilities. Today, Rediffusion is brimming with the energy to excel beyond expectations and our work is comparable with the best. I look forward to taking on the role of Group CEO and ensuring that the same energy and excellence now pervades all our endeavours across the entire group.”

Chauhan has been in advertising for more than 16 years. He has proven his mettle time and again during the past six years, whether as Head of South, Rediffusion DYR, or as President of Everest Brand Solutions. In the last two years, he has headed Rediffusion DYR.
