M Venkataraman quits Times Group, joins Deccan Chronicle as President

M. Venkataraman, Director-Corporate, Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. (BCCL), publishers of The Times of India, has quit. He has joined Hyderabad-based Deccan Chronicle as President, according to reliable industry sources, and will be spearheading the newspaper's Chennai project.

Interestingly, Venkataraman had been designated as Project Director for The Times of India's upcoming Chennai edition. Deccan Chronicle is expected to kick off its Chennai edition this year.

Despite repeated attempts, Venkataraman was not available for comment.
