LoyaltyOne appoints Anirban Dutta as MD

LoyaltyOne announced Anirban Dutta as Managing Director for India, along with Sachin Tagra as Vice President of Business Development.

Dutta has been working with LoyaltyOne for two years now. He joined LoyaltyOne with more than 16 years of rich work experience in financial services, online and retail, and has  spearheaded the launch of several co-branded card programmes with grocery, telecom and specialty retail partners, shared an official release.

“I am very excited to take on this important position and lead LoyaltyOne in India,” said Dutta. “LoyaltyOne has built itself a great position in the world with unmatched quality of client work and relationships, as well its reputation in customer analytics and loyalty strategy. I look forward to build on that foundation and demonstrate ‘What good looks like’, while applying loyalty strategy and customer analytics to everyday business and execute it well in India,” he added.

Sachin Tagra will be a key part of the senior leadership team responsible for setting up India business as Vice President of Business Development for LoyaltyOne India. His rich experience in the retail and FMCG industry makes him one of the leading practioners in the space of loyalty marketing, added the release.

“India is an exciting market and I am very pleased to take this position and drive the India business and set benchmarks in the Indian loyalty and analytics space,” said Tagra.

LoyaltyOne President and Chief Executive Officer Bryan A. Pearson said, “Both Anirban and Sachin bring to their roles nearly two decades of operation and execution experience along with a strong bank of knowledge about the Indian market space. As a team, they will help us drive domestic business.”

Dutta is a chemical engineer with a post graduate degree in business management. His past stints have been with Reliance Retail where he was leading their Loyalty, CRM efforts across all formats; and Rediff, where he was leading their local search business. He has also worked with ICICI Bank.

Tagra was Senior Vice President with Times Group, AVP with Reliance Retail and India Business Head with The Friedman Group.
