Lowe Bangalore gets into action with new businesses and new branch head

Lowe Bangalore is getting into action after a client winning spate in the last 90 days. The agency has won five new businesses recently – Flying Machine, Wienerberger (Austrian brick manufacturer), Manappuram Group, Hanes, and Pigeon. The agency is also foraying into Cochin and Hyderabad.

Lowe Bangalore has brought in GV Krishnan as Executive Vice President-South and Branch Head for Bangalore. Krishnan has 18 years’ experience in marketing and has incidentally has crossed over for the first time into advertising.

On this move, Krishnan said, “I have always been interested in building brands and wanted to experience the other end of the spectrum. One could say that I am living my dream. To simply put it, my mandate is to build Lowe as the best agency in South by having the best brands and people on board.”

His last assignment was with Airtel, where he was Chief Marketing Officer for East and Sri Lanka. Prior to that, he had worked with retail giant Foodworld as Head of Operations, and RPG Cellular.

So how does he see himself in the world of advertising? Krishnan said, “I think I bring a certain freshness in approach, being a first-timer in this field. Also, my experience in marketing gives me the ability to understand the core of the business and the marketing problem, which can then be addressed with a brief that will help in creating the right communication. Idea is the key in this business and this can come from anybody, be it servicing, creative or planning.”

Krishnan further informed that Lowe was hiring talent in a big way and he was focusing on that, especially in the wake of recent wins, which would require more people. Existing clients like Titan, Tanishq, Britannia and Fastrack, too, have been doing quite well, providing the agency with ample scope for growth. “It is about having the right people and creating the right culture that’s really the key to the success of any agency. I think we will end up creating great brands,” Krishnan asserted.
