Lokmat Group promotes Jwalant Swaroop from the rank of General Manager to the post of Director, Ad Sales, effective from April 2004. Ashok Jain, who has been serving as the Director, Ad Sales, would take over as Director, Operations.
Asked about his new responsibilities, Swaroop states, “Team management, enhancing their morale and prep up the wonderful work they are already doing, innovation in terms of strategic marketing, getting the pricing right and providing advertisers’ flexibility.”
And, how does he plan for the immediate future? “To take the competition head on, and to provide advertisers’ best value for the money they are spending in Maharashtra. I would also spearhead the group’s business development programme,” Swaroop says with a smile.
Meanwhile, the group has worked out strategies to re-launch its Kolhapur edition next month. Dwelling on the changes being brought in, Swaroop says: “We are redesigning the paper, we are making it more user friendly and enhancing local coverage. Though it is a fairly good paper even now, there is great scope of improvement.”
The paper also plans more investments to improve its marketing and circulation in Kolhapur area. “We want to tap the potential of the market. It is a rich market with big spending power. Even the readers would get the taste of real local content,” Swaroop says.
