Lintas Media Group bolsters its team with two senior recruitments in West & South

Lintas Media Group has beefed up its senior team with two new additions – S Muthukumarasamy (Muthu) and Patrick Gomes. While Muthu has been brought in as Senior Vice President responsible for Planning, Southern Operations, Gomes is Vice President, LMG West Operations.

In his new appointment, the primary role of Muthu, as he likes to be called, would be to enhance LMG’s Strategic Planning product for all its key clients in Southern markets with a direct supervisory role in Chennai/ Kochi operations of LMG.

Muthu initially started working with Market & Media Research as a software developer before moving into full-fledged media planning. He was instrumental in designing and developing Mudra’s in-house media planning software, Mx4, as part of the Corporate Media Cell. He moved from Mumbai to Delhi to be a part of the Mudra Corporate Media Cell.

With nearly two decades of relevant experience, his last 12 years had been dedicated to media planning and servicing of clients with Chaitra Leo Burnett (now Leo Burnett), TBWA Anthem (now TBWA\India) and Mudra RADAR. Till recently, he was leading a team of 15+ media planners at Mudra RADAR to handle the extremely demanding Reliance ADA Group. He led the team from the front during the Reliance Power IPO (January 2008), launch of Reliance BIG TV (August 2008) and launch of Reliance Mobile GSM service (May 2009).

Apart from the Reliance ADA Group, Muthu has worked on several brands, including Marlboro, United Airlines, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Electrolux, Malayala Manorama, Amar Ujala, Yamaha, Pedigree, Moser Baer and Michelin.

Meanwhile, Gomes has over 13 years of relevant experience and had started his career in media with Carat India, a start-up then in 1997. Post that, he worked with Madison, TME and was last with Starcom in Mumbai.He will be responsible for LMG businesses like financial clients and auto collective (Bajaj Auto and Bajaj Electricals) and for pacing some exciting new businesses for the group.

In the last 5-6 years, Gomes got an opportunity to head the Nokia business at Mediacom Dubai in an unknown market – the Middle East and Africa. He also got an opportunity to work with Starcom Mediavest Group, heading multiple set of clients and a leading a larger team, the interesting part of SMG was being in a quasi marketing role while working for a media agency.
