LG Electronics appoints V Ramachandran as Director, Sales & Marketing

LG Electronics India Ltd (LGEIL) is further strengthening its sales and marketing team. It has appointed V Ramachandran as Director, Sales & Marketing, a newly-created designation. He will be reporting to Managing Director Moon B Shin.

Confirming the development, Dr Yasho V Verma, Director HR & Management Support, LGEIL, said that Ramachandran would be in overall charge of sales and marketing of the Korean consumer electronics major. Girish Rao, VP, Sales & Marketing, will be reporting to Ramachandran.

Though no official confirmation is available yet, the market grapevine has it that LGEIL is planning to appoint a Chief Marketing Officer to coordinate the entire gamut of corporate marketing and advertising activities of the company. Currently, Sandip Tiwari is Head of Marketing at LGEIL. In case a CMO comes on board, Tiwari would report to him. The CMO in turn would report to Ramachandran.

Ramachandran has been with Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) and Unilever Group for the last 21 years. His last assignment was as Business Head-Food Exports, HUL, and was looking after basmati rice and processed vegetable oils for 14 years. He headed the corporate audit function at Unilever Group for four and a half years. He has also headed marketing services for HUL Foods for two years.

Dr Verma said, “Ramachandran is a very experienced person. That’s why we roped him in.”

About his new assignment, Ramachandran said, “LG is a technology and innovation based company. I wanted this experience under my belt and so I joined them. I am looking forward to this association with LG Electronics.”
