Levi Strauss India (LSIL) has announced the appointment of K Venkatramani as new Marketing Director. He will be spearheading marketing initiatives for the companies' range of products such as Levi's Red Tab, Red loop and Levi's Skyes etc. He takes over from Shumone Chatterjee who recently became Managing Director of Levis Strauss India.
Describing his new assignment at Levi Strauss India as both "exciting as well as immensely challenging," Venkatramani said, "I look forward to an amazing time on Levi's which today enjoys the status of being one of the true iconic youth brands in the country. Immense opportunities that the Indian youth and the economy provide along with the status of the Levi's brand make this one of the coolest marketing assignments in India."
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from The Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, and a Masters Degree in Marketing Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute, Mumbai. He has over 12 years of national experience in the FMCG industry with most of the time spent in Unilever, India. As marketing director, his responsibilities include consumer insight mining, product portfolio, brand architecture management, brand positioning, communication and developing and appropriate retail image for the brand across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
