Lenovo India appoints Bhaskar Choudhuri as Director - Marketing

Lenovo India has announced the appointment of Bhaskar Choudhuri as Head of Marketing for India. Based out of Lenovo’s headquarters in Bangalore, Choudhuri will spearhead the role across the three key segments – Consumer, Relationship (enterprise) and SMB. His primary mandate will be to protect or retain Lenovo’s equity in the Relationship segment and attack or increase Lenovo’s brand preference in the consumer and SOHO segments. He will also devise strategies for Lenovo’s digital leap to build increase affinity with Gen X consumers.

Choudhuri joins Lenovo with over 13 years of diverse experience in sales and marketing, primarily in the FMCG space. He was earlier Associate Vice President, Marketing at Cadbury India, for the Candy and Gum category. In addition to this, he played a significant role in managing the Cadbury Dairy Milk (CDM) portfolio and supporting the launches of CDM Silk and CDM Shots.

Commenting on Choudhuri’s appointment, Amar Babu, Managing Director, Lenovo India said, “This development is in line with our growth strategy, as we are moving towards the PC+ era and increasing our focus on the youth segment. Bhaskar is a versatile sales and marketing professional and has played a significant role in managing one of India’s leading FMCG brands. We are certain that his rich experience will enhance Lenovo’s brand image significantly.”

On his new role, Choudhuri said, “It is exciting to be associated with one of the leading PC players of India. Moreover, the shift from a leading FMCG to an established technology brand is quite thrilling. Despite the fact that both segments are diverse, leveraging the youth connect remains a common factor.”
