Lakshmi Narasimhan to join TV-18 as Head of new business venture

Lakshmi Narasimhan, who put in his papers at GroupM earlier this year, has decided on destination next. He is joining TV-18, where he will be heading a new area of business that the group is getting into. Narasimhan would be taking on his new role by February end.

Confirming the development, Sai Kumar, CEO, TV-18 Media, said, “We are delighted to have Lakshmi on board. He is one of the best media professionals in this country.”

Sai Kumar, however, chose to be very tight-lipped when asked about what was expected of Narasimhan. All he would say was, “He would be driving a very key project for us. We really can’t divulge much as of now.” It is reliably learnt that the digital space would one key area of this new project.

As for Narasimhan, he is looking forward to the task ahead. He said, “TV-18 is a future ready company and this is really a great team to work with. That has been one reason for my decision to join the group.”

Prior to this appointment, Narasimhan was the National Director for GroupM’s Central Trading Group (CTG), which is the centralised buying unit of all the agencies of GroupM.
