Lakshmi Narasimhan appointed CEO of Infomedia’s magazine publishing business
In a bid to steer the company’s aggressive plans in the magazines business, Infomedia India Ltd has announced the appointment of Lakshmi Narasimhan as CEO of the magazine publishing business. Prior to joining Infomedia, Narasimhan was with Network18, where he was leading Business Development for the Group and also holding specific responsibilities for maximising revenues.
Prakash Iyer, Managing Director, Infomedia, said, “I am delighted to have Lakshmi come on board to spearhead the growth of our magazines division and expand our presence across print, online, events and television. Lakshmi is an outstanding professional and a veteran of the media business. In his new role, Lakshmi would be expected to leverage his experience in media, his people skills and his revenue focus to significantly expand our portfolio of titles, grow revenues, create multi-media platforms and build and nurture a first rate team.”

At Network18, Narasimhan was also involved in setting up several new ventures, including Sports18 and Synergy18. He has also had a successful stint as Head of the Central Trading Group, GroupM’s media buying arm in India. He as over 14 years’ experience in a variety of roles spanning media buying, revenue management and business development.
Infomedia’s magazine portfolio currently has 21 special interest titles, including ‘Overdrive’, ‘Chip’ and ‘T3’. Infomedia became a part of the Network18 Group when TV18 picked up a 53 per cent stake in Infomedia India Ltd.
