: Kunal Jamuar quits Interactions to join Media Direction as VP for West, South & East

Media Direction, the specialist media services group of RK Swamy BBDO, has appointed Kunal Jamuar as Vice-president/Communication Partner. Jamuar will be reporting to S Yesudas, CEO of RK Swamy Media Group, and will be responsible for running Media Direction’s operations in West, South and East. He moves in from Interactions, Bangalore, where he was VP and Branch Head, and also held additional charge of National Planning on the ITC business.

Commenting on Jamuar’s appointment, Yesudas said, “We are restructuring our operations nationally in order to provide focused services to all clients and to create a strong second-level leadership. Kunal steps in to fulfil this strategy. He will be responsible for running Media Direction’s operations in West, South and East. In addition, he will also play an active role in Research and Technology for RK Swamy Media Group.”

Jamuar said, “I am delighted to be part of Media Direction. The traction witnessed by us so far since the relaunch a year ago has been amazing. Picking up 13 new businesses and keeping all existing and new clients happy is not a small order by any measure. I like the passion that runs across the organisation. It also looks like a place where people are considered as people rather than role numbers.”

Jamuar added, “I have also had the experience of working with Yesudas at Lintas Media. The successful launch of Insight, including its name and charter, was formulated under his leadership. I see enormous potential for Media Direction with our basic approach of adding disproportionate value to clients.”

Jamuar has over a decade of experience in Media and Research. Before Interactions, he was VP, Strategy & Planning, Insight. His career also includes stints at Media Edge (Redifussion); OMS (Mudra) and ORG MARG.

During his career he has handled prestigious clients such as LIC, ITC, Bajaj Auto, UTI, Colgate, Godrej, Idea Cellular, HPCL, Star TV among others. He was listed as one of India’s best Media Planners by Brand Equity in 2006.
