Kishore Malviya has joined Triveni Media as Group Editor close on the heels of Ravi Shankar moving in to fill the place of Rahul Kulshreshtha as CEO of Triveni Media. Triveni Media, which had launched 24-hour Hindi news channel Voice of India on June 1, 2008, and is a subsidiary of Triveni Group, which is into infrastructure and real estate projects.
Ravi Shankar, who was earlier the officiating CEO, has now taken over the complete role of Chief Executive Officer of Triveni Media. Shankar confirmed Malviya’s appointment as Group Editor of VOI to exchange4media.
Malviya has taken charge from February 2, 2009. Commenting on his new role and assignment, he said, “I am happy to take up the new role and responsibility. This is a challenging job, but I am confident in days to come I will be able to take VOI to the next level amidst the problems that the channel has faced in the recent past.”
Malviya began his career as a correspondent with Navbharat Times in 1990, spending seven years there. He then joined Zee News as a senior correspondent, where he did a popular show, ‘Encounter’. In 2001, Malviya joined Nepal 1, a channel owned by Nalini Singh, where he was Head of News. After a four-year stint with Nepal 1, he joined India TV as Senior Editor, where he was responsible for the three-hour Breaking News show. Post this, he moved to VOI when it was launched and joined as Output Head, after spending a year with VOI, Malviya moved to India News, where he joined as Deputy Editor - News.
