Kacon Sethi joins K Sera Sera as CEO

Production house K Sera Sera has roped in Kacon Sethi to head its Indian operations as Chief Executive Officer. The decision comes in the wake of the production house’s intention to expand its business of film productions and supplying content to broadcasters. Prior to this, Sethi was involved with her own business of consultancy and film marketing.

Shedding more light on her new job profile, Sethi says, “In terms of sheer revenue, the ratio of films and TV content is 80:20, with 80 in favour of films. This 20 has to come up. My first focus area would be to expand this area of business.”

Currently K Sera Sera has associations with Sahara Manoranjan and Zee Telefilms. Sethi informs that the production house will actively pitch for business to various broadcasters. “The co-productions have taken off early this year and have done well for us. Apart from that, we are looking at broadband very keenly.”

Quite a lot of action, as per Sethi, is already happening, most of which is still in discussion stage. Before getting into her own ventures, she was the Executive Vice President, Network Sales & Marketing of Sony Entertainment Television. She launched SET MAX as its Business Head in 2000. She believes that her six-year experience would play a vital role in her new job.

“My knowledge of television business will help me here extensively,” says Sethi, “There I was able to contribute in growing the business five fold over five years. Here, the challenge is steeper because the target is three fold growth over the next year.”

For Sethi, the appointment with K Sera Sera is all about timing. In her business of consultancy and film marketing, the company was one of her important clients, “K Sera Sera is speedily gaining critical mass and needed a professional who could strategically grow the business. I understand their business well. It all just fitted well.”

As for the production house, Parag Sanghvi, MD, K Sera Sera says, “We are glad Kacon is on board with us. The next couple of years are important from the point of view of growing our business significantly and with Kacon’s vast experience and leadership capabilities, we are confident to steer in the right direction.”

Prior to her stint with SET, Sethi was National Media Director at Grey. During her career in Media she has worked on some key accounts like ITC, HLL, P&G and others.
