JWT, Delhi Vice-President Alok Lal has put in his papers to join Saatchi and Saatchi as General Manager. This was confirmed by Rohit Ohri, General Manager and Branch Head, JWT, Delhi.
Lal has had a long stint with JWT and was primarily looking after brands like PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay and Reckitt Benckiser. He was with JWT for at least six years, and prior to this, he had had a stint with McCann Erickson.
On the shift, Lal said, “It was a great opportunity and time for me to move on. I was feeling stagnated at JWT.” Speaking on his vision ahead with Saatchi and Saatchi, Lal said, “My vision is to get it to top seven agencies slot. The focus will be to enhance creativity because I believe that pitching is an offshoot of excellent creative product. Of course, we would be looking at acquiring new business, but the initial emphasis will be to get excellent creative solutions.”
Getting somewhat nostalgic about his stint with JWT, Lal said, “It is one of the finest agencies to work in, and I have very good memories of the 15 years I put in here. I have great regard for the agency.”
