Joy Chakkraborthy to join Zee Telefilms as EVP, Ad Sales

STAR India's Sr VP, Ad Sales Joy Chakkraborthy has decided to call it a day. Chakkraborthy is joining Zee Telefilms as EVP, Ad Sales, where in he will take care of all the channels of Zee network barring the news channels. He will join the network on March 9, 2005.

During his tenure at STAR, Chakkraborthy has taken care of almost all the channels and was presently responsible for Star One and Star Gold. "I have had a very productive six-year stint with STAR India, which has taught me a lot about the television business," said Chakkraborthy, "However, I did not see myself growing any further from where I was and hence decided to move on," he said.

Chakkraborthy had also worked with the Zee Telefilms CEO, Pradeep Guha for six years during his stint with The Times of India, prior to joining STAR India. Zee Network had recently seen another vital appointment with HT's Suresh Balakrishnan joining the network as EVP, Marketing.
