Joono Simon to head Mudra South as ECD

Mudra Communications is getting a new head for its South operations in Joono Simon, who is joining as Executive Creative Director. Simon will be based in Bangalore and will take on the responsibilities of the entire South region.

Prior to this, Simon was with JWT, where he was Vice-President and Senior Creative Director for Chennai. He has also worked with Contract and Lintas in the past.

“This is a larger canvas that I will be operating on. I will be looking after four offices considering that it is a large region, and in terms of talent there will be a lot more to work with than I did in my earlier roles. The responsibility is slightly different, especially since there are 3-4 different markets that I am looking after now,” Simon said.

He further said that he felt advertising communication was getting into a more mature space. “We are talking about more accountable creativity today. At Mudra, I’ll be pushing for some larger 360 degree ideas on our bigger brands,” he said.

Confirming Simon’s appointment, Bobby Pawar, National Creative Director, Mudra, said, “There are new changes happening at Mudra, and this is part of that.”
