J Shekar puts in his papers at Zee Kannada as Business Head

J Shekar, Business Head of Zee Kannada, has put in his papers. He has been with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd for more than a decade. It is not known where Shekar is headed next, but he will continue to operate in the same space. He is currently serving his notice period and will be with Zee till the end of January 2011.

Confirming the development, Shekar said, “I have put in my papers and am serving the notice period now. I have a few options, but cannot talk about them now. You will come to know of it when the time comes.”

He added, “Zee has been a great learning platform for me. In the last 10 years, I have learnt about programming, distribution, marketing and sales. It has been an enriching experience.”

Shekar had started out with the Zee Group as Regional Director for CitiCable Network, taking care of distribution. He then moved to Alpha Telugu (now called Zee Telugu), where he headed the sales of Zee Tamil, Zee Telugu and Zee Kannada. For the past two years, he has been the Business Head for Zee Kannada.
