Issac John, who was working with Sport18, the sports marketing division of the Network18 Group, in the capacity of Senior Manager-Marketing, has been appointed as Marketing Head, India at Puma. He will be reporting to Rajiv Mehta, Managing Director, Puma India.
Commenting on Issac’s appointment, Mehta said, “Issac is a well-groomed, intelligent and creative marketing professional. He comes with a background of having worked in a media house, start up environment as well as a sports related vertical. With his diverse experience we expect Issac to lead the brand through its new association with Yuvraj as well as come up with innovations in the retail and digital space. Issac is a great addition to our marketing team in Puma India.”
Speaking about his new role to exchange4media, Issac shared, “I am extremely excited with the prospect of being able to contribute towards Puma India’s marketing efforts. The brand is in a phase of dynamic growth in India and we would like to firmly entrench Puma as the most desirable sports lifestyle brand in India.” In his previous role where he worked for a little over two years, he was responsible for brand communication, media management, and consumer engagement. Prior to this, he was with HT Media for three and a half years, also his first job. He was closely associated with the launch of Fever 104 in 2006 and subsequently, worked with the marketing team to establish the brand in Bangalore and Mumbai, reporting to National Marketing Heads Gowri Kapre and Neeraj Chaturvedi respectively. He also worked with the media marketing team at Hindustan, a publication of HT Media where he managed key clients such as Nokia, Samsung, HP, LG, and Aircel among others.
