iris appoints Alok Lall as MD for India operations

Global integrated marketing agency iris has appointed Alok Lall as Managing Director in India. His last stint was as Delhi Branch Head of Saatchi & Saatchi. He will be based in Delhi. The agency has also appointed Kenneth Augustine as Creative Director.

iris has already been appointed as Sony Ericsson’s integrated marketing communications agency in India. The agency works across all media and disciplines, and its clients globally include Shell, Sony Ericsson, adidas, Unilever and Coca-Cola.

Lall said, “What attracted me to iris was the agency’s youthful energy. It is a refreshing change to work in large networks. There is an infectious sense of fun and creativity that is attractive to clients and agency talent alike.” Lall had spent close to 15 years at JWT prior to joining Saatchi & Saatchi, where he spent a year.

On the other hand, Augustine, who has been appointed as Creative Director, has previously worked with Lowe Advertising and most recently with Capital Advertising. “iris has a terrific history in investing in great creative product. A look at the award winning international work done by the agency for brands like adidas, Shell, CNN and Sony explains what attracted me to the agency,” said Augustine.

“India is a key influencer in the future of our worldwide campaigns. The Indian management team will play a central role in helping shape and drive the international work of our global clients,” said Stewart Shanley, Global CEO, iris.

“It’s been great to bag two of India’s brightest talents for the agency. We are looking at a number of high profile appointments to really put a marker in the ground about our intention in the region. The old network agencies have had it their own way for too long. The marketplace is crying out for an alternative, and we are relishing the prospect of shaking things up,” added Shanley.
