Even as Sudha Natrajan, who was so far President of Interactions, takes on the role of Associate Director at Lintas Media Group, more names have been added to Interactions roster. In addition to Kajal Malik, who recently joined the Lintas Media Services’ agency as Vice President, the agency has also roped in Sumit Kanungo as Senior Vice President.
Kanungo brings in experience spanning 18 years across different markets of Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi; and agencies like Zenith and Mediaedge: cia. He has set up a large team at Interactions Kolkata.
Natrajan said, “With the launch of personal care products by the New Business Division at ITC in Kolkata, it was time to strengthen our focus on another diversification – now in a highly fought out media category – of personal care. Fiama Di Wills has been the first mass market launch out of NBD, after their launch of the premium Essensa Di Wills range a couple of years back. This has actually contributed to revitalising the media market in Kolkata, and attracting good talent there.”
Speaking on the move to beef up Interactions, Natrajan added, “It was tempting to fill in these vacancies with more junior planning heads, who in terms of skill sets seemed quite proficient; but were found wanting when it came to their stature, the respect they could command from their senior clients and having the maturity to handle big clients and sensitive brands. This seems to be a common malaise in the industry because of the unprecedented talent drain in the past few years.”
The appointment of Kajal Malik, ex Regional Director of OMS-Delhi, was the first step towards senior level resourcing at Interactions Bangalore. Malik, in the capacity of Vice President, is handling the Planning Assignment of ITC Foods. As the media custodianship of the whole of ITC rests with ITC Foods, the responsibility of Malik falls in the arena of chalking out planning initiatives for the whole of ITC for the future. She will also oversee the planning product of Interactions Chennai.
