Saurabh Dasgupta has been elevated to Executive Creative Director at Innocean Worldwide. Dasgupta has been a part of the agency’s team since its inception in December 2005 and has been the person behind ideas like Santrowale, the Getz Prime launch, and more recently, the re-launch of Hyundai Accent.
The slot of Executive Creative Director had fallen vacant when Shubha Menon quit the agency to become a freelance creative consultant. Vivek Srivastava, Joint MD, Innocean Worldwide, said, “We value Shubha’s contributions and will miss her skills as a believer in the craft of copywriting. At the same time, we have to move on and have handed the mandate to Saurabh and his team. His mandate is to impart a boost to quality, and nothing else but quality. Our work has to spell leadership in the categories we operate in, and we have full confidence in him.”
Dasgupta said, “We have a client who is positive and aggressive in the market place and a team which has great thinkers. I see all this coming to fruition in the next three months.”
Lending him support would be his senior colleagues Devendra Mehta and Sandip Basu, who have teamed up together in the past at Mudra as well to churn out memorable work on brands like Mitsubishi, Dabur, Samsung, Yamaha, HBO and Electrolux. Dasgupta in the past has worked with Mudra and Leo Burnett (on Coke and Airtel) and has over 14 years’ experience. He has also been on the jury of Orlando, US based Summit Awards for two years in a row and Marketing Effectiveness Awards (MEA) for three years now.
