Indiagames appoints Samir Bangara as Senior Vice-President

Indiagames has appointed Samir Bangara as Senior Vice-President, heading corporate development for the company and business development for the Asia-Pacific operations.

Bangara joins Indiagames from Ernst & Young, where he served as Vice-President in the Transaction Advisory Services Practice, leading the wireless services and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) M&A initiatives of the firm.

After acquiring an MBA in Finance in 1998, Bangara has assisted early stage companies, developing and executing growth strategies, both as part of a venture capital fund and then subsequently as an investment banker at Ernst & Young.

Bangara’s association with Indiagames dates back to 1999 while he was part of an investment team at ILFS Venture Corporation (now IIML), which led the seed stage funding round in the company.

Thereafter, at Ernst & Young, Bangara’s association continued with Indiagames, culminating as an advisor to the recent acquisition of majority stake by Tom Online.

Commenting on the development, Vishal Gondal, CEO of IndiaGames Ltd, said, “We are extremely pleased to have Samir onboard. His rich experience in working with a multitude of high growth companies will augment our quest to be a global leader in mobile entertainment. His expertise on the industry and the region will help us immensely.”

Bangara added, “I am delighted to join Indiagames. My longstanding association with the company has seen them grow into a world leader in wireless gaming. With the backing of investors like Tom Online, Cisco and Macromedia, Indiagames has the potential to be a global leader in the larger and evolving mobile entertainment space.”
