In keeping with its aggressive growth strategy, the India Today Group has announced a few significant promotions. Malcolm D. Mistry has been promoted as Publishing Director – India Today Mega brand. At the same time, Mala Sekhri, who was Publishing Director—Lifestyle Division, has been promoted as COO – Lifestyle & Music. These promotions are effective April 1, 2008.

Mistry, as Publishing Director – India Today Mega brand, will now drive the business for all the brands in the IT-Mega brand portfolio of the group and will be responsible for all aspects of the business including top line, bottom line, marketing, growth, new initiatives, market share, events, language editions, line extensions, etc. Mistry will be addressing some “extraordinary initiatives this year” which will enable strong and sustainable growth in the future for this SBU.

Sekhri, besides expanding business in the Lifestyle and Women’s domain, will also now be responsible for the Music Today business which comes with its own set of opportunities. She will enable strong synergies between the two business units and will chart out an aggressive growth path for existing and new business initiatives, said an internal notification sent out last evening.

Meanwhile, Manoj Sharma has been promoted as Associate Publisher – Impact, India Today Mega Brand. He will be responsible for national advertising sales, sponsorships and alliances across all existing and new brands in this SBU.

Announcing these promotions, Ashish Bagga, Group CEO, “These promotions are aimed at strengthening the team in keeping with the India Today Group’s aggressive growth strategy.”


Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
