Sony Entertainment Television’s Business Head Albert Almeida has put in his papers at the organisation. Almeida would exit the company next week. Even as Almeida has confirmed the development, he did not divulge destination next, except that it would be in the media space. It is understood that Sony has as yet not decided on Almeida’s replacement, and that for the time being, N P Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media would be looking after the channel.

Speculations are rife that a long list is in the waiting to exit Multi Screen Media, and that some of the names are of key positions in the company. Industry sources are also linking this back to the recent high profile exit of Multi Screen Media CEO, Kunal Dasgupta.

When Man Jit Singh, Interim CEO, Multi Screen Media was questioned on this a few days back, he had said that there would not be any “significant changes” in the network.

Before his exit, Almeida has worked in various functions of Multi Screen Media including channels such as Max, where he was the Business Head of the channel.
