At its recently held Annual General Meeting in Mumbai, the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) has re-elected Pradeep Guha, CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., as its President for 2007-08. The new Managing Committee includes Raj Nayak as Vice-President, M. G. Parameswaran as Hon. Secretary, and Jaideep Gandhi as Hon. Treasurer.

The other members of the Managing Committee are: Goutam Rakshit - Member, Tanya Goyal - Member, Rohit Gupta - Member, Sam Balsara (ex-officio Past President), Ramesh Narayan, Co-opted Member, Pheroza Bilimoria, Special Invitee, and Mukul Upadhyaya, Special Invitee.

Spread over 93 countries and with over 6,000 members worldwide, the IAA champions advertising as a force for growth in all free market societies. The IAA is uniquely positioned to recognize emerging cross-border trends before they become obvious, and provide marketing communications professionals with an international, multi-industry forum for the global exchange of knowledge, best practices, professional development, experience and ideas.

The India Chapter was initiated over 20 years ago with a view to foster a healthy environment for the growth of globalization in the communications industry. The India Chapter currently has a membership of around 112 members. Membership is by invitation only.

The major item on the agenda of the IAA in the current year is the holding of the 41st IAA World Congress in Washington on April 7-9, 2008 and the IAA - India Chapter hopes to play a key role in taking a large delegation to this Congress.

Other activities on the anvil include a trip to Japan and a series of dinner meetings exclusively for the IAA members and their guests to be addressed by “International Indians”.

Also on the cards is a one-day seminar on the ‘Future of the Brand’ with stellar content, culminating in an evening of revelry and entertainment.
