Rohit Lal, Programming Head, IBN7, has joined Triveni Group’s forthcoming Hindi news channel as Programming Head. He would be reporting to Group Editor Ram Kripal Singh.
Lal brings with him 18 years’ experience in the media. He began his career with a video magazine, and thereafter started freelancing for different channels and production houses. During the same time, he was associated with programmes like ‘Red Alert’ and ‘Poll Khol’ for STAR News. Thereafter he joined IBN7 in 2005.
“It is the challenge of setting up a new channel that attracted me. In the crowded market of new TV channels all around, setting up a news channel and establishing it is a big challenge in itself,” said Lal.
“I have known Rohit for 18 years now and have also got the opportunity to work with him in bits and pieces. There is a clear match in understanding each other’s ideology, which brings him here. I hope he would be a great asset in the coming future,” said Rahul Kulshreshtha, CEO, Triveni Media Ltd.
Triveni Group is a Rs 3,000-crore conglomerate which has interests in real estate and automobiles, and has now diversified into the media space.
