IBM’s Sanjay Sharma joins Samsung IT Division as Vice-President

Sanjay Sharma, a former IBM hand, has joined Samsung India as Vice-President of the IT Division from June 1, 2006. As VP, Sharma will be responsible for Samsung’s IT business in India, along with the sales and marketing functions of the company’s IT business in South East Asia.

Sharma brings with him over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, of which the past nine years have been with IBM Global Services. At IBM, he had worked on various assignments in the sales and marketing field for the Indian and Asia Pacific market. Prior to his assignment at IBM, Sharma was with Multi Tech Computers, handling its channel sales function.

Elaborating on his new appointment, Sharma said, “My focus at Samsung will be to retain and improve the company’s leadership position in the volume business categories and meet the aggressive growth targets of product categories like printers and PCs. This apart, building channel loyalty and confidence will also be top priority for me.”
