Holding back critical recruitments in the name of recession is suicidal: Law & Kenneth’s Anil Nair

The slowdown is finally beginning to wear off as hirings are back on agencies’ agenda. Law & Kenneth is one such agency that has lined up ambitious expansion plans and has been adding to its team in Mumbai, with hirings planed for other offices as well. The agency is looking at a complete revamp by hiring people with new ideas for creative developments.

Delna Patel has joined Law & Kenneth as Executive Creative Director. She will be reporting to Anil Nair, CEO & Managing Partner, Law & Kenneth. One of the brands that she will take care of is ITC’s Vivel. Though Patel will be based in Mumbai, she will be used as a national resource.

She brings with her a degree in filmmaking and 13 years of advertising experience, having worked with agencies like Lowe Lintas, Ambience (now Publicis Ambience) and Contract. Patel has worked on various brands such as Lakme, Fair & Lovely, Johnson Baby, Croma, Ginger, Femina, Bajaj Auto, Whisper, Westside, Shoppers Stop, Tata Tea and ICICI Prudential, to name a few.

Vera Desai, an ex-Lowe Lintas hand, has joined Law & Kenneth as Group Head, Copy. She will be working closely with Patel in Mumbai.

Commenting on the fresh recruitments, Anil Nair said, “Delna comes on board with a clear mandate to raise the bar on creative solutions, especially for ITC’s Vivel brand. She will also be a national resource and be accessible for our other client partners as well, irrespective of geography. Meanwhile, Vera will play a vital role by assisting Delna in delivering effective solutions for Law & Kenneth’s Mumbai office business.”

He further said, “These recruitments are part of a larger initiative to provide more interfaces between senior creative talent and brands; thereby generating more effective solutions on a faster pace. This is an absolute must today, given the clutter level in every category. Holding back critical recruitments like these in the name of recession will be simply suicidal.”
