Hemanth Shah is joining Lintas Media Group (LMG) as President, Out-of-Home Initiatives. He is expected to join this week. Shah’s mandate will cover the agency’s expansion into all out-of-home consumer spaces, including retail, events, transport, sports and outdoor.
Shah would be working closely with Aaren Initiative, LMG and Karishma Initiative leadership teams to service existing accounts and bring in new businesses. He would report to Lintas Media Group Chairman & CEO Lynn de Souza.
Confirming the appointment, de Souza said, “Lintas is already a leading player in the OOH space with Aaren Initiative, which services an enviable roster of clients in all markets and categories. Hemanth will add to the strategic product of this company as well as direct the rest of our businesses towards more comprehensive use of emerging media, especially in retail, digital outdoor, branded events, and opportunities in all kinds of sports not just cricket.”
Shah added, “What is appealing in this assignment at LMG is the challenge to integrate with the core team to build on ideas so as to scale up good quality work. I look forward to showcase the capability, best practices and industry knowledge to the clients so that media investments in OOH are made more and more in an informed and consistent manner.”
An MBA in marketing with over 20 years of work experience, Shah has worked in functions across sales, marketing, research and general management in diverse companies. Some of the names include Tata Press, Mudra Group, Alban Communications (in London and Mumbai), Hansa Research, Future Group. His last assignment was with Times Group as Revenue Head of OOH.
Having worked over 15 years in the OOH media space, Shah is among the few domain specialists who have seen all sides of the medium – planning, buying, research and selling. He evangelised and set up media in the ambience of consumption while at Future Group, especially as part of the team that launched retail digital signage in India – Future TV. At Times Group, he was instrumental in the team achieving major landmarks like clocking highest revenue on key media and implementing a tight credit policy. His forte is in growing relationships, forging alliances and building teams and processes to acquire and grow sustainable business.
