GN Mohan appointed Head of Samvaya Kannada news channel

GN Mohan has joined Samaya Kannada news channel as its new head. He took charge as Samaya TV Editor-in-Chief on July 26, 2011. He was earlier heading ETV Kannada television news of Ramoji Group and was with ETV News group for eight years.

Moving on from the ETV Group, Mohan co-founded Mayflower Media House. He has also been the Chief Editor of Avadhi, popular Kannada e-magazine. Besides, he has created and developed a number of popular online media platforms in Kannada and has contributed to the development of online media in the state.

Mohan is also a noted media columnist. His column on media in Vijaya Karnataka, the Kannada daily from the Times Group, was very popular. He is also the author and editor of several books on media and new media. He has received the prestigious Pu TI Na literary award and Kannada Sahitya Academy award for his literary writings.

He has an experience of 20 years in print, electronic and online media. Mohan had started his career as a reporter with Prajavani (Deccan Herald group) and was with the group for 12 years.
