In order to support growth, particularly after the substantial new business win of Nokia, Aegis Media Singapore has appointed experienced media veteran, Anupriya Acharya as the new CEO. Prior to this, Acharya was based in India as the President of Rediffusion Y&R’s media arm TME. Also, in recognising the growing importance of digital, Arun Kumar, the incumbent Aegis Media CEO, is moving to a regional role as Director Digital Operations to further strengthen the digital product for Aegis Media in the region.

Prior to TME, Acharya was with GroupM where she set up mConsult – GroupM’s marketing communications consulting venture. Over the years, she has worked across a diverse set of clients such as Unilever, Colgate, Citibank, Indian Oils, Nestle and Reckitt Benckiser, amongst others.

In a prepared statement, Ashish Bhasin, Chairman India & CEO South East Asia, Aegis Media said, “We are delighted to have Anupriya on board. Her extensive experience in media will help enormously in continuing to grow the Singapore office and build on the success of our existing clients. Simultaneously, after doing a good job as the Singapore CEO, we need Arun to help us further strengthen our digital and search offering in the region and in key markets such as China.”

”I am looking forward to growing Aegis Media Singapore both in scale and in quality. We have some of the best clients in the country like Nokia, OCBC, Tourism Australia and many others so it makes my challenge very interesting,” said Anupriya.

“Digital and search will be the most important growth drivers for Aegis Media and I’m keen to develop our capabilities in this space,” Arun Kumar added.
