Pavan Varshnei has resigned from his duties as President, English Magazines and digital properties division of the ABP Group. Following his resignation, Kaushik Banerjee will take over as Vice President, English Magazines and Digital with effect from 1st March 2012.
Confirming this development to exchange4media, DD Purkayastha, CEO, ABP Group said, "After spending 4 years with ABP, yes, he has left, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours." He also informed that "in his place now we have Kaushik Banerjee, who will be relocating to Delhi. He is now head of the English magazine business, but will also take on retail and radio businesses."
Varshnei was based in Delhi, and had successfully launched Fortune India. He had also managed both Businessworld and Fortune, besides ABP Group’s online media properties. Prior to this, Varshnei worked at India Today Group as the Publishing Director, Business Division for four years. Before his tenure with the India Today Group, he had served as Executive Vice-President at Lintas, where he worked across both account management and media for 14 years.
Varshnei is a graduate from Delhi’s St Stephen’s College, and an MBA with distinction from the Asian Institute of Management, besides a Senior Chevening Scholar from The London School of Economics.
