Flashed yesterday: Big Cinemas’ Tushar Dhingra joins Mogae Media

Tushar Dhingra, till recently COO of Big Cinemas, has joined Mogae Media as Chief Delights Officer. He will look after the entire discounts-deals-delights space at Mogae.

Mogae Media is the new venture launched by veteran ad-man Sandeep Goyal focused on mobile monetisation. Mogae Media is the sole and exclusive partner of Airtel for marketing its entire advertising inventory, which includes mobile-couponing, mobile-deals and mobile value-adds for Airtel’s 180 million strong base.

Welcoming Dhingra to Mogae, Tanya Goyal, Executive Director, Mogae Media, said, “Tushar has had 16 years of enriching and action packed experience in retail, hospitality, media and entertainment industries. He is just the right kind of person to lead our new initiative in mobile-commerce. Tushar is treading virgin territory, but with his kind of background, forging alliances, finding delightful deals and great-value propositions for customers should be easy.”

For over six years, Dhingra had been associated with Big Cinemas as Chief Operating Officer. He has been responsible for creating the Big Cinemas brand from a 23-screen regional operator to be the largest consumer cinema brand of India. Big Cinemas was named Retailer of the Year in Entertainment at the India Retail Summit and won the Most Admired Retailer - Entertainment Award at the Images Retail Awards in 2006, 2007 & 2009 during Dhingra’s tenure.

“Mobile is the new frontier for consumer delight 24x7… and the coming in of location-based services will only enhance the targeting, as well as the ‘instanity’ of the value-proposition for our consumers. I am looking forward to pioneering this new space at Mogae,” Dingra said.

He has earlier been associated with PVR Cinemas, Warner Bros, Taj Hotels and ITC Hotels in various capacities. He was CMO at PVR before joining Big Cinemas. He will be based at Mogae’s headquarters at Delhi.
