Everest NCD N Padmakumar moves within the group; to be National Creative Head at Rediffusion

After a nearly four-year stint at Everest Brand Solutions, N Padmakumar (Paddy), the National Creative Director, is moving on, but within the same group. Padmakumar’s next assignment is with Rediffusion as its National Creative Head.

At Everest, Padmakumar had partnered with President D Rajappa to add several new and substantial businesses such as ACC Cement, Indian Overseas Bank, Tata Housing, Writer Corporation, Emami, and T-Series, among others.

“Working with Rajappa has been a truly rewarding experience. Our chemistry was terrific from the start and our outlook and attitudes matched perfectly. His clarity of purpose and steadiness rubbed off on me, adding great new weapons to my armoury. We’ve been comrades in adversity and in success, which makes us truly close. I will continue to glean insights and guidance from him,” Padmakumar said of his partner, guide and mentor.

“I now look forward to the challenges and demands of working at Rediffusion, and working in the inspirational presence of Diwan Arun Nanda,” he added.

D Rajappa, President, Everest Brand Solutions, added here, “Paddy and I have had a journey together that has been eventful all along, and it has been a pleasure working together. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved here, and am confident he will go on to do well in his next assignment. I wish him the very best as he grows, and I’ve no doubt ours is a relationship that will endure through time.”

Padmakumar had spent the formative years of his career working at Lintas, handling Lever personal wash brands like Lifebuoy, Liril, Breeze and Rexona, besides having worked on the launch of Britannia Tiger biscuits. Then followed a brief stint at MTV, where he conceptualised and launched ‘Fully Faltoo’, ‘Gone Case’, and the new MTV Classic show, besides having worked on Bakra and other shows.

Thereafter he traveled to Sri Lanka, leading Lintas Sri Lanka to ‘Agency of the Year’ two years in succession as ECD there, receiving a special award for ‘Creative Person of the Year’. He moved back to India, this time to Lowe Delhi as Creative Head on the LG business.

Shortly after, he joined McCann Worldgroup as ECD Sri Lanka, where yet again he led the agency to ‘Agency of the Year’. He came back to India thereafter, joining Lowe Mumbai to handle ICICI Bank, the Clinic Haircare range, Vim, Domex, ACC cement and Bharat Petroleum, also winning the MCX business along the way.

He has handled advertising for literally every kind of product and service, for clients like HSBC, ICICI, Cathay Pacific, Unilever, Nestle, Coke, Chevron, Parle, Britannia, BPCL, Pizza Hut, Tata, Zandu, Emami, IOB, LIC, Dulux, Singer, LG, CNN-IBN, Singapore Government, Dialog, Mobitel, and Airtel.
