Entertainment Network (India) Ltd (ENIL) has beefed up the senior management of Radio Mirchi with Alok Purohit as Business Evangelist, Gautam Shahane as Head of Content Alliances, and Prashant Chacko as Cluster Head-East.
Commenting on the appointments, Nandan Srinath, COO, ENIL, said, “This is an important time for Radio Mirchi as we have recently launched new stations across the country and are now focussed on growing our listener base. We are confident that Alok Purohit, Gautam Shahane and Prashant Chacko would continue to lead Radio Mirchi from strength to strength. With their vast experience and technical expertise, they are sure to provide the leadership required to ensure that Mirchi fully capitalises on the tremendous growth that we anticipate in the radio industry over the next several years.”
Alok Purohit had joined Radio Mirchi in September 2001 as Station Head in Indore. After working at various positions at Radio Mirchi, his last assignment was as Regional Director, Central Region. In his new role as Business Evangelist, Purohit would work alongside the Cluster Heads and Regional Directors to personally coach and guide operation heads in smaller and new markets with effect from May 2008. He would work along side station heads to improve business metrics, processes and ensure a uniformity of the Mirchi culture across the network.
Gautam Shahane had joined Radio Mirchi in February 2002 as Station Head for Pune station. Prior to his appointment as Head, Content Alliances, he was engaged in business development for Radio Mirchi and was instrumental in tripling revenues for Mirchi Activation. As Head, Content Alliances, Shahane would lead the team in conceptualising and providing innovative radio content and other specifically created content to mobile and Internet platforms. He would work closely with Tapas Sen, CPO, Radio Mirchi, and other Heads, allowing consumers to access Mirchi’s content in new and innovative ways.
Prashant Chacko, a new member at Radio Mirchi, has replaced Sriram Kilambi as Cluster Head for the Eastern region. He is responsible for the Kolkata station with a supervisory role of the Patna station. An MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, Chacko has worked with BPL Mobile and Airtel covering the VAS domain in the line of music, m-Commerce and messaging. His last assignment was with Airtel, where he had worked since 2004.
