Emmanuel Upputuru is set to join Publicis India as National Creative Director. His mandate will be to lead the Publicis India creative team and to partner with Hemant Misra, President and COO, and take the agency to the next level. Prior to Publicis, Upputuru was with O&M Delhi, where he was heading the creative team.
Speaking on the development, Nakul Chopra, MD and CEO, Publicis Network, India, said, “Emmanuel brings both excellent creative skills and depth of experience with him. With his induction and other recent changes, we have now set the stage for Publicis India to take another leap forward. I look forward to Emmanuel setting global creative benchmarks for not just Publicis India, but for the entire Publicis Network in India.”
Misra said, “Since I joined Publicis India in May this year, I have been on the lookout for a creative partner and I am happy that my search has finally reached its destination. Emmanuel comes in with a great reputation and embodies new, fresh thinking. He will help us herald a new paradigm in growth for Publicis India.”
A Post Graduate in Political Science, Upputuru has spent close to 12 years in advertising and has many awards to his credit. He started out with Contract as a Trainee Copy Writer and later moved to Leo Burnett as Associate Creative Director. In 2003, he joined Saatchi & Saatchi as Creative Director and won their first Cannes Lion. He has worked on a wide range of brands through his career, including Shell, Dabur, Shriram Honda, Kawasaki, Nokia, Mother Dairy, Gillette, Limca, Sprite, Motorola, Maruti and American Express Bank, among others.
