Kulvinder Ahluwalia has joined Draft FCB-Ulka to head key strategic businesses from the Tata Group, as General Manager. The appointment was made earlier this month and this is a homecoming of sorts for Ahluwalia, who started his career as a management trainee with the then FCB-Ulka.
Commenting on the appointment, Nitin Karkare, COO, Draft FCB-Ulka said, “Kulvi is a product of our management trainee programme, ‘Star One’. And we are glad that he is back as GM. It’s a special feeling to when our Star One trainees return. He will be heading some of our important businesses, including the Tata Group.”
On his return to the agency and his new role, Ahluwalia commented, “I’m really excited about this opportunity to be back to my first love - advertising. As I have worked with the Tata Group extensively in my earlier stint, I look forward to re-kindling the old relationship, and using some of Draft FCB-Ulka’s proprietary techniques in an attempt to continue creating insightful communication solutions on their business.”
During his initial seven years at FCB-Ulka, Ahluwalia serviced clients like Tata Indica, Tata Indigo, Santoor, Coldarin, Tata Corporate and Wipro. His re-entry into the agency is preceded by his four-year stint with Hennig, a London-based diamond consulting firm for De Beers.
