Dow Jones Newswires appoints Sumathi Vaidyanathan as South Asia bureau chief

Leading global real-time news and information solutions provider Dow Jones Newswires today announced that it has appointed Sumathi Vaidyanathan as its South Asia bureau chief, informed an official communiqué.

As the head of reporting operations for the newswire in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Vaidyanathan brings in a wealth of experience to her new role-including more than eight years with Dow Jones in Singapore. Until recently, she was the head of the Dow Jones Newswires editing desks for Asia-Pacific.

An Indian national, Vaidyanathan grew up in Mumbai and is fluent in both Hindi and Tamil. Before joining Dow Jones, she worked with the Singapore Press Holdings as a writer and copy editor for six years.
