Dilip Venkataraman to join CNN-IBN as Director-Marketing

The marketing and brand team at CNN-IBN is fast falling into place. The forthcoming channel from the TV18 stable has just appointed Pugmarks CEO, N Dilip Venkatraman, as Director, Marketing. Venkatraman joins the channel in the next two weeks. His appointment comes close on the heels of Zee News’ Sanjay Dua joining TV18 in a senior sales function.

Needless to say that Venkatraman is excited over his new assignment. He said, “I’m delighted with this opportunity and look forward to it. CNN-IBN is one of the few brands which has managed to create significant hype even before its launch and enjoys high credibility. I look forward to the kind of work that I can do with the team there.”

Venkatraman joined Pugmarks in September 2004. Prior to that, he was with Zee, where he was initially Head of Brand Management for Zee News and was responsible for repackaging and repositioning Zee.

Subsequently, he was assigned responsibility for Zee’s DTH business as President, Marketing, Dish TV. He was also the man behind Zee News’ wireless GSM-led tickers.
