Dheeraj Kapuria quits as CEO of Zee Telefilms’ US arm Natural Wellness

Dheeraj Kapuria, CEO, Natural Wellness USA Inc, has put in his papers. January 15, 2008 would be his last day at work. Natural Wellness is a greenfield project of Zee Telefilms Ltd, which caters to the health and wellness sector in the US. The multi-pronged project spans three distinct businesses – TV channel, e-commerce and retail. The television channel Veria TV was the first 24x7 channel by an Indian company in the US for mainstream American audience, with the company claiming that Veria’s website received more than half a million hits per day.

Confirming the news, Kapuria said, “My experience with the Zee Network has been really wonderful. I had the opportunity to grow from Associate Vice-President to the post of CEO here.”

Kapuria has not yet decided on his next destination, saying that he had several options to look forward to. “There is a strong possibility of starting something of my own, and coming back to India is also in my mind,” he added.

Kapuria had joined Zee Telefilms Ltd in 1997 as Head of Advertising Sales for North and East Indian operations. Later, he was made responsible for the international operations of Zee Network, which included North America, Europe, Africa, Far East and Australia.

Prior to joining Zee Telefilms, Kapuria had 16 years’ experience working with leading advertising agencies, including FCB Ulka, Chaitra, Everest and Soubhagya. He was also the Co-founder and Director of Anthem agency with George John. He has handled product categories as varied as FMCG, consumer durables, soft drinks, and automobiles, among others.
