Devraj Basu, COO (India-I) at BEI Confluence, is moving to Singapore as Regional Director, BEI Confluence, South East Asia. His new responsibilities would involve overseeing the entire business of the ASEAN countries. Confirming the development, Basu said that he would take charge at the Singapore office from March 4.
exchange4media had reported in April 2007 that following a major restructuring in BEI Confluence, the agency had divided its operations under two divisions – India-I and India-II. Basu was made COO (India-I) and was heading the agency’s Delhi and Kolkata offices.
Tapas Gupta, MD, BEI Confluence, said, “Devraj Basu has been given the opportunity of international assignments, which is good for his career. This would give him opportunities in a bigger global perspective in the business of advertising and communication. I wish him all the best for his future. I would not call it an elevation, but a movement within the BEI Confluence system.”
The countries included in his new portfolio are Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore. Basu is expected to start up offices and bring in business from 2-3 countries in the region.
Meanwhile, Gupta would also double as Regional Head till a replacement for Basu is found.
